Elden Ring boasts a fantastic community of gamers who have dedicated their time to creating one of the best multiplayer co-op mods for the base game. Many were excited to see how it would integrate with the DLC. Thankfully, the wait is over, as the seamless co-op mod is now available to play in Shadow of The Erdtree.
If you’re curious to know more about the mod, its implementation in the DLC, and some of its drawbacks, we have you covered. Below, you can check out all the latest details on the new Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree seamless co-op mod.
Seamless Co-Op Mod Now Compatible with Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC
When it comes to co-op for most of the Soulsborne titles, the early attempts were often janky and almost unplayable, as seen in Dark Souls 1 and the original Demon’s Souls. With the release of Dark Souls 2 and beyond, the co-op system became more “passable,” though it still required effort to work correctly. This was also the case for Elden Ring, but fortunately, a mod called “seamless co-op” existed to make the system easier to manage and more functional.
This mod significantly boosted Elden Ring’s co-op popularity, and now it’s available for the DLC as well, allowing you to journey through the Land of Shadow with your friends more conveniently. However, since the DLC was only released a week ago, there are bound to be some kinks to iron out.
“While not perfect, it has reached a state where it can be used to play Elden Ring and the DLC in co-op,” said Dalvik, a moderator for the seamless co-op mod’s Discord server. So, if you do boot it up, don’t expect everything to run smoothly, especially considering some of the framerate issues the DLC currently has without any mods in place.

Of course, this is likely just some initial growing pains for the mod. As time goes on and the developers of the mod become more familiar with the DLC’s codebase, it will likely improve. This is promising, as the mod already offers great features such as allowing you to retain your saves from previous seamless co-op playthroughs, classic invasions, enemy scaling options, and some quality-of-life fixes.
This makes the mod a must-try for players with tons of hours in the game, looking for something new in The Lands Between and the Land of Shadow. Even Miyazaki himself approves of these experimental ways to play the game, as he doesn’t mind if people use mods like this one. So, give it a shot the next time you load into the Land of Shadow and prepare for a new challenge or group experience in Elden Ring: Shadow of The Erdtree.
